Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP)

Eligibility Criteria

• Min. 6 months full-time work experience

• Graduated outside of Canada within the last 2 years with an ECA

• A business plan with projected financials

• A 10-minute presentation of the business plan to investors

• Min. Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) or or Niveaux de compétence linguistique canadiens (NCLC) at level of 7 for each skill

• Min. of 34% or 51% ownership if located in an urban centre or outside of Calgary/Edmonton (regional) respectively

• Min. investment of $100,000 or $50,000 for urban or regional business respectively - from own equity or a designated investor

• Must have a letter of recommendation from an AINP-approved designated agency

• Min. settlement funds for setting up their business and support themselves

Apply for a Nomination

One AINP application in process at any time. Seven-step process:

1. Read the AINP terms and conditions

2. Review the FGSVS eligibility criteria

3. Submit an Expression of Interest online

4. Submit the Business Application package

5. Business Application assessment

6. Establish your business in Alberta

7. Final Report for AINP Nomination

After nominated?

Once your AINP/FGSVS nomination is accepted, you may:

• Apply for permanent residence

• Extend your work permit

• Extend your nomination
